Texas is solidifying its position as a hub for defense innovation by launching a new accelerator aimed at integrating Israeli defense technology into the U.S. military landscape. Texas Venture Partners (TVP), in collaboration with Capital Factory and Q-Branch, has introduced the Department of Defense (DoD) Readiness Program, a 12-week initiative designed to equip Israeli startups with the tools to navigate the U.S. defense sector’s complex regulatory and operational framework.
With major military institutions such as Army Futures Command, Joint Base San Antonio, and Fort Cavazos, Texas has become a key gateway for defense companies looking to expand in the U.S. The state is also home to a growing ecosystem of dual-use technology firms developing solutions for military and civilian applications. The DoD Readiness Program will leverage this environment by providing Israeli startups direct access to former DoD officials, industry experts, and regulatory advisors. Participants will gain strategic insights into securing U.S. government contracts, optimizing corporate structures, and scaling their operations within the U.S. defense market.
Companies will receive specialized training in compliance, tax planning, corporate governance, and business development throughout the program. They will also refine their marketing strategies to align with U.S. defense procurement needs. The program culminates in a Demo Day, where participating startups will present their technologies to U.S. defense investors, military stakeholders, and industry leaders.
Israeli defense firms are recognized globally for their advanced military technologies, but breaking into the highly regulated U.S. defense sector presents significant challenges. Many companies struggle to align their business models with DoD requirements, navigate procurement processes, and establish the industry relationships necessary for success. The DoD Readiness Program is structured to bridge these gaps, providing a step-by-step roadmap for market entry.
Applications for the first cohort are now open. The program will launch in March 2025. The initiative aims to accelerate technological innovation and security cooperation between the two nations by strengthening collaboration between Israeli defense startups and the U.S. defense sector.
